In a typically UK style of presenting science every year the Sofia Science Festival brings together researchers, innovators and thought leaders in technology and research from the UK, Bulgaria and other countries. They meet a range of well studied and differentiated audiences in impactful events set up specifically for each selected target group.
This year the festival is planned from 10 to 13 May 2018 and already has a long list of confirmed topics and speakers from different countries. From artificial intelligence and cryptocurrencies to Antarctic explorations and graphology – the 3 stages of the festival will be buzzing with the exciting stories from inspiring speakers making the headlines across the world. Throughout the four festival days visitors also come to see the stands with innovative technologies, hands-on demonstrations, simulations and experiments.
The Sofia Science Festival was set up by the British Council in Bulgaria. They work with the Ministry of Education and Science and with Sofia Municipality who are their key partners. The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, universities, cultural and education organisations and media are already part of the festival’s eco-system, alongside some very strong partnerships with industries that have their own research and development or work in the area of innovation. MTel, Aurubis, Microsoft and BASF are among those with whom the event organisers have walked the long way of creating a name for the first and only science festival in Bulgaria.
We want to make sure that BBBA members are also aware of the opportunity the festival provides. If you would like to partner with them or be a sponsor, or perhaps you have a ground breaking technology you want to show to wide audiences and perhaps also catch the attention of the media, please do get in touch with them by 26 January for a customised offer.
