The British Bulgarian Business Association (BBBA), the Bulgarian Fintech Association (BFA), and Tuk-Тam joined forces in bringing representatives of the Bulgarian fintech and tech eco-system to explore opportunities in the global Fintech center London. The event was hosted by the Bulgarian Embassy and attendees had the chance to interact both with H.E. Marin Raykov, Bulgarian Ambassador in London, and Krassimir Kiryakov, Bulgarian Commercial Attaché.

The intense programme consisted of two days, the first one dedicated to recruiting talented Bulgarians studying and working in the UK, and the second day focused on practical advice on how fintech and tech companies can scale up their business globally by setting up on the UK market.

Pitching directly to financial and market entry experts and potential employees, and finding out how to deal with financial regulations and getting access to government and private support for setting up in London were only a few of the opportunities for the delegates. Keynote speakers at the event were London & Partners, Department of International Trade, NewFound Global, and Cobden Partners.

Both attendees and hosts agreed that the potential for collaboration between the UK and Bulgarian Fintech ecosystem is tremendous and that the initiative built a strong foundation for future collaboration.

Alongside with the Fintech mission, BBBA organised a brainstorming session focused on the creation of a programme for supporting Bulgarian innovative companies to scale globally from the UK market. The event was kindly hosted by BBBA member Fieldfisher and attended by leading representatives of the Bulgarian diaspora, financial and investment experts, and start-up enthusiasts.
